About Metastatic Bone Disease

Metastatic bone disease is cancer that originates in one part of the body (most commonly breast, lung, thyroid, kidney, and prostate) and spreads to the bone. Cancer cells can travel to any bone in the body and can cause pain and decrease mobility. Cancer cells can weaken the bone and cause a fracture. Our goal is to identify and treat patients before a fracture occurs.

Common Symptoms of Bone Metastasis:

  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Unintentional Weight Loss
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Bone Fracture

What to expect at your first visit?

Usually, the first visit is just a consultation with the physician assistant where we discuss your past medical history, complete a physical exam, review any prior imaging, and potentially order new X-rays. If any additional imaging, biopsy, or surgery is needed, then it will be scheduled at a later date.
