Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic to Launch MyChart on March 1, 2025

BROC Launches MyChart

New patient portal will improve access, communication, and overall care experience

Baton Rouge, LA — February 12, 2025 — Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic (BROC) will officially transition to MyChart on March 1, 2025, introducing a new patient portal and mobile app designed to improve access to medical information and strengthen communication between patients and providers.

This upgrade is part of BROC’s implementation of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, a leading platform that supports a more connected and efficient healthcare experience. Through this transition, patients will benefit from a streamlined, user-friendly system that keeps their health information accessible and organized.

Epic is one of the most widely used health record systems in the United States, offering an integrated, patient-centered approach to care. With this technology, BROC patients will have greater visibility into their health information and more opportunities to stay actively engaged in their care.

“The launch of MyChart is a major step forward in providing our patients with the best possible healthcare experience,” said Trey Williamson, CEO at BROC. “With MyChart, patients will have a more convenient and efficient way to manage their care, schedule appointments, communicate with providers, and access important health records—all in one system.”

With MyChart, patients and their designated caregivers will have access to a secure online platform that allows them to:

  • Communicate directly with providers
  • Schedule appointments and complete eCheck-in before arrival
  • Request prescription refills
  • View test results and medical records
  • Make online payments with paperless billing options
  • Access virtual care, including telehealth visits

In addition, Epic’s interoperability allows BROC providers to coordinate care more effectively with external clinicians. This connectivity improves communication across healthcare networks, reduces duplication, and helps close gaps in patient care.

Patients can begin signing up for MyChart starting February 17, 2025. For more information on how to create an account, visit brortho.com/mychart or contact BROC for assistance.
