John Marshall Whatley, MD

Dr. John Marshall Whatley is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic that specializes in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery, as well as Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery. His specific clinical interests include pelvis and acetabular fractures, open fractures, complex peri-articular fractures, fracture nonunions, treatment of polytrauma patients, post-traumatic joint reconstruction, and treatment of hip and knee arthritis.

Dr. Whatley received his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA, and went on to Orthopaedic Surgery residency at LSUHSC – New Orleans. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Whatley was awarded the LSU OITE Award for having the highest average score on the annual residency in-training examination among the year’s graduates. After residency, Dr. Whatley was further trained in Orthopaedic Trauma and Joint Reconstruction at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
